Loch Lomond Open Course Collection 19 Year Old (2019)
70cl | 50.3% ABV
This 19 Year Old Single Malt was released to commemorate Loch Lomond Whiskies' sponsorship of The Open.
In partnership with former Open Championship winner, Darren Clarke this malt has been matured in American oak and finished in red wine casks, creating a stunning liquid with an underlying fruit character.
Open Course Collection 2019
Loch Lomond, The Official Spirit of the Open, agreed a high-profile partnership with 2011 open champion, Darren Clarke to promote the brand’s range of award-winning single malts across the world.
Darren Clarke worked with Loch Lomond Whiskies Master Blender Michael Henry to create the Open Course Collection Royal Portrush, a 19-year-old single malt. Michael’s choice of casks reflects the underlying fruit character created by the innovative stills at the Loch Lomond distillery.
Bottled in the traditional artisanal manner: non chill filtered and bottled at 50.3% abv resulting in a richer mouth feel and a deeper and more complex flavour, just as nature intended.
Michael's Tasting Notes:
Nose
Tropical fruits and sweet vanilla.
Taste
Rich mouth feel with a complex honey sweetness.
Finish
Long finish with a gentle warming spice.Â
